The Economist had an article about China’s plan 2025 which is meant to take the lead in AI and software. It mentions how they steal or buy US technology to help them. Like it was a new development. I remember in 1984, Motorola was starting to manufacture semiconductors in China and you had to have a “rent a red” on staff whose job was to report back to the party on what they had learned. So this has been going on for 34 years!!!! Smartphones with little games (which are the biggest sellers for phones) is not going to rule the world.
