Michael was the first person that I understood even though he speaks in the language of mythology, our inner big Self, intuition. It may only be my interpretation, but he basically describes Trump as a few of us did, not has a republican but has a dangerous personality and I was certain people could see the dictator in him and might take that into being a president that is only one branch and had to deal with hundreds of opinions and power brokers. Not a good fit to a person use to ordering people to do what he says and no questions. My fear is when that happens to him on someting he really cares about. Will he do a runaround going well beyond his power? He is commander and chief and can abviously get what he wants. But the damage was done. The bad choices are being implemented and things will get worse, not better. This country was on a steady path forward; finally recognizing the impacts of AI and machine automation on jobs that will not be as smooth as the history books say about the industrial revolution. It makes people turn to any help to ease the fear and conditions. It takes little to have power turned off. Car or home repossesed, or find yourself homeless after landlords all check credit scores made up by private companies. I expected this 4 or 5 years ago starting with the Blacks and then the students but wasn’t sure of retirees. They are the most conservative and bigoted but they finally heard the message they are going to cut the safety net. The sad part is the bills signed so far have been questionable overrulling a narrow regulation without rewritting the original bill. This could go to courts to decide and democrats will regret letting the republican senate scare them out of appointing someone ot fill the empty seat on the court. Republicans are pushing the legal limit in their behavior and there will be a huge backlash for their irresponsible actions. Most of the harm will be in green energy growth and the increase in air pollution, poisned water and fish, whole econsystems ruined for the fossil fuels that the world is moving on while we try to bring back those jobs. Manufactuing jobs are limited, require high skills and the auto industry is heavily run by robots. They are made all over the place;. Does anybody think unions are going to be supported? They were they only counter to employers. Non union while collar workers have been loosing money every year by low salary increases but much higher expenses for benefits so less than 1% promotions and in the end I make the same about I made in 1991. All dreams were dead. Start watching Trailer Park Boys to lower expectations. I have an MBA for International Business plus certificates for graduate computer science! But only the top 1 or 2 % get the big bucks. Everyone else has to settle for the leftovers. With the ability to move the work to anywhere in the world or bring people here and pay much less nothing changed. I jokingly suggested a computer union around the world and nobody here likes unions. Even though they get better compensation than salaried employees. ONe more time I reommend profit sharing plans and stock ownership for all employees. The other is a straight tax on dirty energy companies, particularly oil companies. And it should be on revenue not profit to get around cooked books.
One of the sadest thing is the lack of morals and ethics by our leaders. The CEOs are paid in excess but control the compensation team and usually the board. So any recommendation is approved. The consultants help that leapfrog process. No one challenges what is done out of fear or ignorance. What that will mean 10 years from now as everyone learns lying is no longer a sin. Which reminds one that even though we are the most “religious” country, the religion is totally corrupted by the Church. If our foundations are shaking, people become fearful. Can’t trust the Coaches, or the comidians, the TV celebrities, the politicians, police, judges, lawers, food companies, energy companies, technology companies. People are suggesting philosophers, new political systems because people now realize what happens with little regulation. It is extremely unfortunate or as say as often as I can, that people thinkAyn Rand has the answer to life. Giving creative and successful people deserve everything and carry the rest of the good burocats
