I have never heard so many different types of people, all express a feeling of disbelief and incredulous at the state of our country, economy and leaders. The involvement of Russian and Putin in our elections. Our president asking for them to hack Clinton’s email. The cyberwar attack on our Internet by Russia 6 days before the election, never mentioned. All kinds of people. Service workers, checkout clerks, young black kids, small business owners. If you listen to the last couple decades of country music in the vein of Willie Nelson, Steve Earle, James McMurtry, they have been telling their stories of losing jobs, medical care any hope. How was it that the people know what is wrong yet the leaders continued on the same path, repeating the same thing expecting different results?
And how did that party win so many elections, get away with extreme manipulation of procedures, shutting down the government, bailing out the wall street gamblers 100 cents on the dollar, not allowing a sitting president to appoint an empty Supreme Court seat. Something that cracked our Democracy further after making companies that have so much money/power it is hard to comprehend. Scientists are shocked at the turn against reality and the basic process of science with nothing but hot air to replace it.
There is a lot happening at once and very fast that creates many large problems, questions and required assessment of what to do with the technology tidal wave hitting us over and over. All of our social relationships are being changed, and given our preference to let companies make money however they want, we have given up our freedoms, democracy, our sovereignty to a few self-interested rich people. The news media should forever be ashamed of how they put fuel on the fire, turning anything into a show. A few, maintained their integrity and treated events at the appropirate level of importance rather than equalizing all information, data, opinion and results – absences of critical thinking by the most powerful communication network we have every seen.
I have said that I thought there would be blood in the streets the last 5 years or so. Where were the truckers going to washington and surrounding it so the politicans had to stay where they were. The airline workers could shut down the system. Dock workers can stop goods coming in or out. Why am I suggesting this kind of disruption? Because, the people in charge will not respond to votes, letters, emails, tweets or anything else. They have to be made to feel the pain of the rest of the world.
I would not want to be in Government when South, Central, North America, Europe, middle east and SE Asia billions reach their limits. And unless the Europeans and some other enlightened countries can lead us down a better road, some of you will have the honor of living through a, what do historians call those 100 year wars, destruction, torture? Usually, nothing. Let’s just skip over that fuck up. And if you saw the people that implement the latestest technology, you would not be so hopeful about that solving all of our numb nut ideas.
