So here at the glorified age of retirement that, in this age of global competition and trade, no longer holds the ideal life as it did when retirement and social pensions started in Europe. Now, old people not working are a drain on society and the purely capitalist-greedy-evil people even think they should take away all the savings that was put into Trust(to ensure that if you worked from 16 -66, 50 YEARS, you would have something to pay for living expenses) and give it to Wall Street Investment Banks! That is like asking a crocodile for a ride across the river!
Stealing is stealing. I have read the Government Actuaries’ reports. Yes, the design needs to be changed with more intake and less outflow. The first is easier and fairer than fucking over 10 of millions of people. Don’t ya think??

On a lighter note, I spent 20 years or more trying to live a spiritual life however you want to define it but it is surrendering to anything or one your will. Religion has lots of rituals and I went through CRHP and became active in the program as well as Marriage Encounter and its followup groups. Same with a 12 step group. I also joined the Lutheran Church learning the fine point of difference between Catholic and Lutherans. I am Presbyterian as baptized. I swear I have heard more Catholic Masses than most Catholics. I can usually quote some Bible Story but outside of most groups, people do not know the Great Stories in human history. Enough wisdom has been passed to us that we should not be making so many mistakes. For another Sunday.
