The continuation of dumbing of America

March 28, 2017 at 12:13 AM FROM PROGRESSIVE CHANGE

Donald Trump’s budget kills all federal funding for PBS — every last dime.
While Trump spends millions of taxpayer dollars on trips to Mar-a-Lago, his budget takes Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Oscar the Grouch away from our children and grandchildren.
Sign the petition to Congress: Save the public broadcasting, the arts, and other important priorities. Vote NO on Trump’s budget!
Eliminating federal funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting would devastate all of PBS’s children’s programming. And that’s not all — Trump’s all-out assault on the arts and humanities includes eliminating the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
It gets worse: Meals on Wheels, energy and heating assistance programs, and rural infrastructure funding all get the axe. Trump’s budget also slashes college tuition aid; the Women, Infants, and Children nutritional program; and the Environmental Protection Agency. All this to fund massive tax cuts for millionaires, billionaires, and big corporations.
Millions of Americans rely on public broadcasting for impartial journalism and educational programming that you can’t find on corporate channels. And our children deserve commercial-free programming that helps them learn.
When Mitt Romney threatened to cut off PBS in 2012, over 20,000 PCCC members signed a petition to leave Big Bird alone. Our friend Big Bird is under attack again and needs your support!
