Why the Wealth Gap will become the Grand Canyon

I am constantly reminded of the changes from 25 years ago in the work environment and employee benefits and HR. I spend15 years reading insurance contracts in different languages and plan documents for special clauses during due diligence for an acquisition. So I thought I would be able to help others with their questions. HA! I have never been so uncertain of what happens when, to whom, how much and most important how the company can take it away.

I designed a lot of pension plans, some savings plans, life, health, executive comp plans, phantom stock plans but I have never seen a more incomprehesivel mess of communications and documentations than at … A simple question cannot be answered with ready the 300+ page “SUMMARY PLAN DESCRIPTION””.. One helper said that you use it like a reference but that is NOT what ERISA intended. The plan document is availlable for that. You might have to go to 5 separate sources to get information that might not apply to you. In fact, the whole design is a simple reaction to the next acquisition which is stuck on the end.

And I have a suspicion why this is. Hewitt I think is their consultant and I used them as well at one time to redesign our corporate plans. I never used them for international work. They are like the antithesis of an artist. I remember asking them, I want some ideas on how to change this and silence greated me. So they probably have never made a sugestion to improve things. I just went to someone that I knew thought like me and left hewitt to handle process.

Anyway, this would discourage me as a worke, that everything is confusing, and since no one tells you anything you just assume you are the only one that doesn’t get it. And all of life is that way now.. And I blame it on the companies putting out crap work faster and faster. It is not you people, it is the producers. Apple’s IOS UX sucks now. Security is a CF. The stupid double-triple clck of the iphopne home button is fucking shit.

What is funny is my son was thinking exactly the same thing separately. Time to sell Apple???
