As an introduction, I worked actuarial benefit consulting and then as a corporatre director so I know a little about benefits, ERISA and accounting rules that screw things up for the regular worker. What a mess we have created in this country. Another example of private companies controlling solutions so they get included even if it means a complex list of plans a,b,c, d, e, f, g, …L, S you have to choose medicare and Medigap insurance plus a drug plan or a complete private plan called Advantage C so insurance companies provide the basic medicare in place of Government. The systems don’t work together. Medical practice in some areas has become about running tests that cost too much. I had a bicycle accident and I fell through a storefront plate glaSS window when my foot got caught. A piece of glass sliced by arm worth 28 stitches. The Ambulance ride was $1500. x-ray about $5k for the afternoon. And the beautiful but a bitch had no idea the pain I had and she brought me 2, 2 advil. My doctors almost always say double the dosage. I have no time for any Leader in business or government nor wall street nor a group of economists that a sad. Accounting Standards board members that work for the big audit firms. I was reading ERISA and there must not be any enforcement because the SPD are not supposed to be 218 pages of the hardest format you can read and I have read a lot of plan docs and insurance contracts some of them in a foreign language. We make jobs by creating duplications and variations and junk. So what. Advertising works! People buy it, break it, throw it out. It adds plastics to the water, it takes oil to make, the oil is dug out of tar sands in Canada through a pipeline that the great scourge of our country, The Koch Bros, cost people land, already leaking into streams and water basins to the cesspools of the Mississippi river as it dumps waste from processing the oil to something else and sold. And a part of Eden certainly at one time is a free dumping area for the Chemical and oil refineries in LA. You are constantly getting messages, images and every piece of information from humans can not be trusted today because we have let people get away with lying, cheating without shame or rejection but with indifference.
America is like this dumb giant that huts everyone without seeing it. Where are the stories of sustainabilty? The accounting practice groups create accounting standards that drive corporate behavior, along with taxes. I have written about how accounting standards distort the true cost of our way of life. If we included the cost of the damage the oil spills and harm to property owners, the destruction of nature basically then we would not be creating shit for the sake of producing and consuming something. Is it better than the old ones? Inkjet printers are the best example of our economy. That and the totally fucked up health care system. Really, it is so stupid, I don’t want to use it. Someone is going to make money off of looking up my arse to find cancer because our water, ground and air is filled with stuff humans created and we eat it just like the whole food chain. These natural health plans always include flushing out your eat and shit system. Isn’t that pleasant.
We have too many people listening to anybody with a Church or a radio or cable, YouTube, instagram, twitter, FB, blog that confirms their fears about those other people. The new boys in town. Gotta be their fault. Trump is a shameless hustler that figure how to get all these people who have been hurt by being forced to compete with billions of other humans. This has been happening over a long time. J K Galbraith, the noble prize-winning economist I liked in school, called it the Innocent Fraud. There are the wealthy and powerful and the wonks, that knew what Reaganomics would create and still told the same old lie over and over….. I was taught to question all authority because we are humans and we have problems holding to ideals, especially the powerful. I taught my sons the same thing. I have worked as a pier in treatment to the top VPs and CEO and they are as lucky as you are and they just want the money and stock to keep coming. Even if it means you have no personal life. The point is, they are not special, except for a few. When people would label Trump as billionaire as if that had any thing to do with the job of an American President. I read an article about how people can be a type that is naturally drawn to authority and respects rank and orders…and feel safe if there is a strong leader no matter how dumb, unethical and dangerous because he is used to the business world that exercilse absolute authority over employees. Forcing you to give up your human rights to get a job. Now they are telling you what to read, how to act, no, how you will act or you are screwed. Ah, just go somewhere else that is unusual in its culture. Absolute power corrupts absolutely is not an old myth but a basic truth of humans. Money corrupts as well. And our world is full of it. People go to books about thinking positive will let the universe go around all these people that mean you no harm, its just business as they steal; in everything but name.
