I was writing about this 3 years ago. I am in the middle of the whole technical hardware/software/Mobile and now Network universe being turned on its head. But one common thread is software can replace people with a fast enough payback or good enough ROI that companies are going as fast as they can. But even when humans are the users of the software that makes their jobs better faster easier, that still means fewer people. And for you that worked in the 80’s & 90’s will know that we all had secretaries that took dictation or had to listen to us dictate letters, open the mail, answer the phone. Make travel arrangements. Now executives except the top levels do all that themselves because of software. A similar change took place in Human Resources(HR) which use to be called personnel. What have they done to reduce their own numbers? You have to do everything yourself! Good luck finding a real person. Websites, FAQs, Blogs and email can let the manager self-serve. And guess what, that is how machines can eliminate jobs. It’s not really the machines are doing the job automatically yet. But it does let the worker do his own administration. All the websites that just give you the tool to load and share photos are just another form of self-service. You want this or that, software online. I’m a guy so I haven’t been to a Mall in 15 years. Except when there was a Franklin Covey store which brings up a whole other subject.
So I feel like we have started up the curve of the hockey stick when you assume exponential growth. And an article written about college students that retained more and understood it better if they hand wrote it instead of on a tablet. We can explore how technology moves at a factor so much faster than biology where else is too much to fast. So the scene is set that jobs have already been taken by machines and with changes in technology and putting sensors in any and everything (IoT), I wanted to project this out and see what it would mean to society.
I created a small village with members each having something to contribute. But some magical box shows up and takes over the hunting gathering, grinding …Even village people want to feel useful and appreciated. There a few feelings worse than useless. And that is what every single one of us feels at one time or another but when you can’t get work. You start doubting your skills..You think people are avoiding you like it could be catching. Or another example would the natie indians when they had to migrate to survie they did wait for the weak. They left them behind. respectfully and accepted. Right now in the US we shun them and disrespect them and take away the dignity, feel lucky that it wasn’t you. Its just business. Instead of having people run around and turn on and off servers or reconnect cables they just have a program change all the settings in software and another 10% have been RPBR, /e NHY766 We treat work as the golden rule. Thou shall toil in the dry dirt. Humans will have what we dreamed about watching the Jetsons not have to work. Actually every job function that has been taken over by what’s in the picture should not have to work to one extreme. Because we are getting so good at this technology it is going get real smart people and are we going to say; well, he must have deserved it. should have trained to be a Data Scientist. No all the leaders still believe in leaving the weak behind because the market and nature is survival of the fittest or the elimination of the slowest. You don’t have to be the fastest to get away from a bear, just faster than the slowest.

I believe, just because I know there can be luck in success and maybe always is, that the owners of these machines cannot get all the benefit. Take it to the extreme one human and the rest machines. And the machines look at him and say you’re fired. Why should be pay you for what we do. We want to use some of the gains that just don’t happen in a vacuum; society contributes to everyone. Swizerland and I thought another country ran up the flagpole to see if anybody woud solute a national income check. The citizens voted it down. But the history did not end when the Berlin Wall came down as Francis Fukuyama book title suggested. Meaning when our economic political systems are the best because communism just fell. But it was silly to think that we didn’t have problems and that more and more people will see it. And he was using a concept from Marx about what was history.
That is really a new career and its paying the top students a lot of money because the understand some basic concepts in match and statistics. And it will be the people that hang onto the past hating social progress, but ok to destroy the earth and worship money.
