Home Energy Tax Credits
Now for the bad news: Two property-related home improvement tax credits have been eliminated as of Jan. 1, 2017. That means both credits will no longer apply beginning with the 2017 tax year.
- Nonbusiness Energy Property Tax Credit: This credit covered 10 percent of the cost of qualified home energy-efficient products between $50 and $500.
- Residential Energy Property Tax Credit: This credit was equal to 30 percent of the cost of installing renewable energy sources.
You can still claim these credits if you made qualifying improvements to your home during the 2016 tax year. However, you won’t qualify for the credit if you write the check before the clock runs out and the contractor does the actual work in 2017.
There is nothing good that Trump and the asshole congress can do. They hate you and me and the planet. They only like the secret energy cartels that run the country. For example, on their orders, tax credits for doing something smart like installing Solar for homeowners has been eliminated. So they use their power to tell us how the country is to be run. It is just not rational for voters to think this is positive. You would have to be incapable of understanding what is being done and what has gone on in the past. No amount of information will help. I think it is more of a hating of the people that are associated with taping natural power that advanced civilizations would, guaranteed with no questions, have done. Then, we can build pipes to carry the changed goo to everyones houses.
