The Premise: The false classification of Ayn Rand ideas as a Philosophy

Ayn Rand

By Vampire2020

It must have come up in a movie I was half watching.  An arrogant financial prick refers to Fountainhead, Ayn Rand’s first of two major books. It reminded me of discussions with my sons and doing my best to open their eyes and read and question everything including the law.

Atlas Shrugs is they other the privledged or want-to-be’s quote or reference when they want to justifiy their behavior.  Poor atlas is holding up the world what should he do?  Shrug them off.   Now  you know how Wall Street, CEOs, and almost anybody with lots of money thinks of the rest of us.  I started reading Fountainhead but otherwise disagreed with her conclusions so didn’t bother to read her books.  It reminded me of the I Ching, and many other stories that address the same theme.  The movie  The Family Man tells the same story. But it could be the people today that have adopted it’s tenets of Objectivism and self-interest to extreme.
