World food prices have soared in the last year and is causing the ultimate hardship for millions around the world. There are a number of causes including the redirection of crops for fuel, weather and increases in demand from countries like china. But at the same time, think about the fact that the oil companies are generating HUGE, RECORD PROFITS that are in the hands of a few powerful people. When you have companies making 10 to 20 BILLION dollars in PROFIT each year, why don’t countries tax that profit and use it to help the people that are STARVING??
Instead, people think that they have to contribute themselves out of their meager incomes. It is part of the brainwashing that has been done by big business. They are ENTITLED to make and keep obscene amounts of money while giving a minimum to charity to say they are good citizens.
